“Woof! Woof!” said Dog.

“That is not Dog’s happy bark,” said Cow.

“Something is wrong!”

Pig and Cat ran outside.

They ran to Red Bird’s tree.

There was Dog.

“I saw something,” said Dog.

“It was black.

It was big!”

“How big was it?” asked Cat.

“It was bigger than Farmer!” said Dog.

“And it ate Red Bird’s food!”

“It’s a monster,” said Cat. 

“A hungry monster!” said Pig.

“I barked and barked,” said Dog.

“I barked until it ran away.”

“Will it come back?” asked Pig.

“Will it eat us?” asked Cat.

“No,” said Dog.

“I will watch the farm.

I will keep us safe.”
