I can’t sleep

“Aaaaaaaaaahhm.”

The tree let out a big yawn

as a tiny cloud come

to rest on its brranch.

“Aaaaaaaaaahhm.”

The tree tubbed

his sleepy eyes

as he watched the lights

of the houses turn off,

one by one.

“Five,

Four,

Three,

Two,

and just one more.”

The tree waited and waiter,

But the light stayed on.

“Hmm, I wonder

who’s still awake.”

Knock, knock, knock.

The tree tapped

on the window.

The startled boy inside

turned around.

“Why aren’t you sleeping?”

“I can’t sleep.”

“Just close your eyes.”

“But, I can still see

with my eyes closed.”

“What is it you see?”

“Fish!

I see fish blowing bubbles.”

“The bubbles never stop.

And, the fish never sleep.”

“That’s not true.”

Fish do sleep.

They sleep lying down

and on their belly.

They even toss

and turn just like you!

There is nothing

in the world

that doesn’t sleep.

“That’t not true.
