Can’t Sleep2

داستان کوتاه

The river never sleeps.
I mean,
it always flows downstream
That’s when
the boy’s eyes lit up.
The tree laughed
as its leaves rustled.
 
“Oh!
The river is indeed
a sleepyhead. 
It’s always tossing
and turning as it sleeps.
And, it even talks
in its sleep.
Only rivers that sleep well
will make it to the sea.”
 
 
“What about the sky?
The sky doesn’t fall asleep,
does it?”
 
The boy pointed
to the big sky.
 
“Whern the sky closes
its eyes,
everything becomes dark.
 
Do you see
that tiny star
falling from the sky?
 
Well,
 
the sky must have
dropped the star
while sleeping.
 
But, no need to worry.
The sea will
catch the little star
and put it to sleep.”
 
” Then, what about trees?”
 
“Of course trees sleep.
 
The best trees
always get their sleep.
After all,
that’s how they can grow.”
 
“But, how do they sleep?”
 
The tree held the little boy.
Ever so gently,
but securely.
 
Then, the tree sang
the bou a lullaby.
And, covered him up
with a cozy cloud.
 
The bugs went to sleep.
And, the birds
went to sleep.
 
“Aaaaaaaaaaaaaaaa.”
 
The bou let out
a long yawn.
He fell asleep.
 
 
 
And then,
the tree fell asleep.
