The Pet Lovers Club 10: Theo’s Big Problem

Theo: I’m worried about Paint-Your-Pet Day.

Riley: Why are you worried, Theo?

Theo: I want Frankie to be on TV.

Skyler: I don’t care if Chatter is on TV. I like him the way he is.

Theo: I really want Frankie to win. But I’m not a good painter.

Ben: My mom says we can’t all be good at everything.

Riley: Right. Theo is good at making people laugh.

Ben: Miss Keen is good at thinking up fun ideas. 

Skyler: Chatter is good at chatting.

Riley: Here comes Snooks. He’s good at running!

Snooks: Ar-ooo !

Ben: And howling.

Riley: Don’t forget. The Pet Lovers Club meets today!

Kids: We’ll be over soon! Bye!

Mrs. Summers: You’ll never guess what happened!

Riley: What?

Mrs. Summers: I made brownies for the Pet Lovers Club. And I burned them!

I’m just not good at baking

Riley: Don’t worry, Mom. They look okay.

Ben: They taste okay too, Mrs. Summers.

Sarah: Yeah. They are really good!

Mrs. Summers: Thank you. I wish I was a better baker.

Then I could bake better snacks for the club

Theo: I wish I was good at painting. But everything I paint looks terrible!

Ben: Why don’t you take painting lessons?

Theo: There’s no time. Paint-Your-Pet Day is tomorrow!

Skyler: Maybe you’ll paint a funny picture.

Sarah: And make people laugh.

Theo: I don’t want to make people laugh. I want Frankie to be a TV star!
